Character Editor and Cat Size Customization
The character customization suite features detailed color wheels, markings, fur options, and body size scaling. Players can customize specific facial regions, teeth, mouth interiors, whiskers, and claws.
Cat Sizes
The editor features multiple body sizes that dynamically affect character scale:
- Small Kit
- Kit / Large Kit
- Small Apprentice
- Apprentice
- Small Warrior
- Warrior
- Large Warrior
Morph Features and Presets
- Markings & Furs: Includes head markings, body patterns (such as dapple, tuxedo, tortoiseshell, and tabby variants), ventral countershading, split ears, jaw fluff, and multiple tail options like the glowy tail.
- Custom Palettes: Players can save favorite colors and individual markings using an in-editor favorite system.
- Visual Presets: Ready-made morph presets include Tuxedo, Red Tabby, Seal Point, Solid White, Black Tabby, and Tortoiseshell.
- Eye & Pupil Sliders: Sliders allow players to toggle between wide and narrow pupil shapes depending on light or expression.
Map Locations, Clan Camps, and Points of Interest
The beta map expands beyond early test versions to include all primary lake landmarks, Clan territories, and interactive landmarks.
- ThunderClan Territory: Located in a deep ravine/quarry setting (the Stone Hollow) featuring high ledges, stone-walled dens, an overgrown forest, and the northeast hiking trail near the abandoned trailer.
- ShadowClan Territory: Characterized by pine needles, muddy swamps, dark lighting, a large apprentice den, and proximity to the twoleg nest and frog pond.
- WindClan Territory: An open moorland landscape featuring grassy hills, low-profile dens, and the iconic lone tree.
- RiverClan Territory: Features active water streams, waterfalls, the High Stump, reeds, and dedicated clan storage shelves.
- Gathering Island: Positioned in the center of the lake, reachable by swimming across the water or crossing the fallen tree log.
- The Moonpool: Accessible via an underground tunnel trail leading from the upper river path, allowing cats to visit the sacred pool to share tongues with StarClan.
- Twoleg Locations & Barn: Includes the Greenleaf Twoleg Place, a campsite, a boathouse with broken wooden docks (the Half-bridge), and the Horse Place (the Barn) where rogue and loner roleplayers can explore hay lofts and human structures like parked cars.
Herbs, Foraging, and Medicine Cat Mechanics
Herbs spawn dynamically across the landscape. Players press or hold V to collect herbs, which can be stored in Clan medicine stores or carried in inventory bundles (up to three items at a time).
| Herb / Item | Visual Appearance | Function / Roleplay Effect | Known Spawn Locations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Borage | Blue flower | Reduces fevers and sickness | ThunderClan, grassy clearings |
| Marigold | Golden flower | Treats scratches; can be chewed into a poultice | Found widely across all territories |
| Burdock Root | Leafy ground foliage | Heals rat bites (slow respawn timer) | Near abandoned Twoleg structures |
| Poppy | Pink flower | Must shake flower head to gather seeds; eases pain and aids sleep | Near moonpool trail and field edges |
| Catmint / Catnip | Low-growing leafy plant | Treats severe illness | Near the abandoned trailer and Horse Place |
| Cobwebs | Found near trees/walls | Applied to scratches and broken legs (requires a stick to collect) | Tunnel entrances and wooded areas |
| Stick | Large ground branch | Required tool to collect cobwebs | Scattered near den entrances and woodlands |
| Honey | Tree-based spawn | Soothes sore throats and coughs (requires Moss to harvest) | Tree hollows in ShadowClan and WindClan borders |
| Moss | Green ground foliage | Collects water for queens/kits; relieves stress when destroyed | Shaded banks and medicine dens |
| Tansy | Yellow, round flower | Soothes coughs and sore throats | Near Twoleg structures and field borders |
| Yarrow | White flower cluster | Induces vomiting to cure poison | ThunderClan borders and near the Barn |
| Deathberries | Red berries on leafy bushes | Causes poison, fever, and coughing; reduces health to 1% | Moonpool rocks, Horse Place fence, ShadowClan |
Note on Deathberries: In Survival Mode, consuming Deathberries rapidly reduces health down to 1%, where it stops. Because the game is rooted in roleplay, health cannot hit 0%, and characters cannot die. Official rules strictly prohibit roleplaying self-harm with deathberries.
Survival Mode vs. Roleplay Mode Controls
Upon spawning, players select between two gameplay environments:
- Roleplay Mode: A peaceful mode where cats are unaffected by hunger, sickness, or injury.
- Survival Mode: An interactive mode tracking physical status conditions. Falling from heights breaks bones (requiring cobwebs/sticks), venturing into cold water during bad weather inflicts fevers, and rat bites cause localized infections.
Hunting and Scent Vision
- Scent Vision: Activated via the Z key or animation menu, highlighting nearby prey trails.
- Prey Mechanics: Rabbits, squirrels, mice, frogs, and birds spawn across territories. Cats must crouch, stalk near the target, and press V to capture prey to restore hunger.
- Hydration: Cats can approach water sources or use water-soaked moss to drink.
Emotes, Keybinds, and Animation Debugging
The game features custom character animations, emotes, and utility tools for roleplay scenarios:
- Movement Controls: Cats can toggle between walk, trot, canter, gallop, crawl, and limp states.
- Carrying System: Adult cats can carry kits by the scruff. Carried characters cannot initiate trades or teleport while held.
- Roleplay Emotes: Emote wheels and keybinds include loaf, yawn, recline/lay, stretch, sleep, curl, smile, scared, pant, and angry expressions.
- Combat Postures: Players can unsheathe or sheath claws using the G key, toggle ear positions, and display scratch attacks.
- Animation Debug: If a character gets stuck in a sitting or crouched animation after altering sizes, accessing Menu > Settings > Animation Debug triggers a 3-second reset to free the model without requiring a server rejoin.
